Utah Tech PREP is a NO COST summer program that challenges high achieving 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students who are interested in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
UT PREP provides three summers of rigorous academic instruction where students build their problem-solving skills, complete hands-on projects, go on exciting field trips, and attend fascinating career presentations.

We give motivated middle-schoolers the chance to challenge themselves, explore advanced STEM concepts, collaborate with peers, and discover their own potential — all at no cost. PREP is designed to build confidence, curiosity, and long-term academic success, especially for students who may not otherwise have access to programs like this. Students leave seeing themselves differently: as problem-solvers, innovators, and future STEM leaders.
Students learn basic logic and math skills, get hands-on with simple engineering projects like bridges and gliders, and build confidence using different problem-solving strategies.
Students dive into algebraic structures and physics topics like motion, energy, and electricity, while continuing to grow their problem-solving skills with more advanced challenges.
Students explore statistics, design and code a simple computer game, and experiment with tech like 3D modeling, robotics, and printed designs to apply their skills in real projects.
The curriculum combines hands-on engineering, math, physics, computer science, and new technology to give students a strong STEM foundation.
Most students return each summer, showing how much they value the challenge, friendships, and hands-on STEM experiences they gain at PREP.

Support UT PREP
Students who successfully complete all three summers of Utah Tech PREP will receive a recommendation for one of 30 reserved seats at UT SUCCESS Academy for their 10th grade year.
